CUT / COPY / PASTE
Three simple words plus a very simple computer function that you will use allot of times and it baffle the newbie's the most of the time!
Allot of my customers try to watch me work trying to pick up some of these trick, but I do them so quick that they do not catch the actions. But once I SLOOOW things down and show them, they love it.
What is CUT / COPY / PASTE and what does it do?
- CUT - This will remove it from the original location and Paste (move) it to a new location of your choosing.
- COPY - This will make a copy of the original and you Paste a copy of it to the locations of your choosing.
- PASTE - This is the finalizing of the cut or copy function. And you can paste it into multiple location from one cut or copy action (will change what you will paste each time you cut or copy something new)
How do you cut or copy something?
You will need to HIGHLIGHT or select what ever you wish to Cut or Copy ; once cut or copy is completed, it will act like nothing has happen so don't get nevus. Once you use the Paste command it will let you know by putting the information or item there, you did it right.
And in MS Windows you always have several ways of doing the same thing:
- RIGHT CLICK your mouse button is request of commands. So right click over the highlighted area slide down to copy or cut and left click it; now you've copy or cut the item.
- You will also see an icon in the command bar of the widow you are in; left click the icon to copy the highlighted area.
- Left click on the word "Edit" slide down to the copy function and left click to copy the highlighted area.

There is still a couple more way though the Keyboard commands. This is carried over from DOS and they still work.
